About
Bio
I was born in León, Spain, in 1976 and currently live in Barcelona, where I work as a software engineer in the video game industry. I have been practising photography since 2008, always in black and white. After working with digital photography for more than a decade, I now work exclusively with film. The darkroom and printing my own photographs are an essential part of my process.
Artist statement
My work grows out of encounters with places, objects, people, animals and everyday phenomena. I am less interested in documenting or constructing a narrative than in exploring what a photograph can reveal beyond what it represents.
I am particularly drawn to images that leave something unresolved, and whose meaning also depends on the viewer’s imagination and experience. The strangeness of the familiar, ambiguity, and the sense of a presence that is difficult to identify recur throughout my work.
I like to think that every photograph I make holds a secret.
